A reception honoring the Rev. D. Randall Cone, of Louisiana, on 50 years of ordained ministry in the Presbyterian Church USA, will be held Saturday, Sept. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Curryville Presbyterian Church, 201 East Main.

He was ordained in late October 1963 at his home church in Independence, Iowa. After receiving a call in late September 1963, he came to Missouri to work in the Montgomery County Presbyterian Larger Parish, and lived in Wellsville beginning Nov. 1, 1963.

He retired officially Dec. 31, 2006 after serving several churches in Montgomery, Lincoln, Audrain, Lafayette, Johnson, and Pike counties.

A short program, beginning at 2 p.m., will be held in the church sanctuary under the direction of the Rev. Michael Lewton, Stated Supply pastor of the church.

Any gifts given will be designated 75 percent to the Missouri Union Presbytery Camp Covenant Point at Holts Summit.
