Kylie Conrow completed a feat this summer that is unprecedented at BGHS, where she attends as an upcoming senior. Conrow made history as the school’s first track and field athlete to qualify for the USATF National Junior Olympic Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet, held July 23 through 29.
“This is a great accomplishment,” said BGHS head track coach Matt Chance. “Not many athletes get the opportunity to compete in a meet where you see some of the best track athletes in the country.”
Although he was not able to attend the meet, Chance boasted that, to his knowledge of 15 years at BGHS, Conrow is the first to achieve the qualification.
The now-senior has made headlines the last couple of years for her accomplishments on the track. Knowledge of the athlete’s ability is known around the area.
“I have an acquaintance from my church who also is a coach for a 3A school in St. Charles. After she saw Kylie compete at Sectionals and State this year, she recommended that I keep her working on her track events over the summer,” said the track star’s mother, Tabby Conrow.
