Construction on the new Missouri Department of Transportation Highway Shed in Bowling Green was proceeding on schedule prior to the death of one of the laborers constructing the new facility, according to area engineer Brian Haeffner.
The shed, which is expected to be completed in November 2018, it is being built with a price tag of $800,650.
“There is no reason to believe that it will not be completed on schedule,” Haeffner said in an interview prior to Monday’s incident.
In a telephone interview on Tuesday, Haeffner said that MoDOT officials were aware of the situation and that all questions regarding the construction timeline would need to be directed to the construction company.
