Bowling Green’s Cornerstone Christian Church, located at 1620 Business 54 West, is hosting a Creation vs. Chance Sunday School class for the next several weeks.
Beginning Sunday at 9:30 a.m., the class deals with a question familiar to many: Did God create us or did we get here by chance?
We thank God for the scientific technologies that have improved our lives, lengthened our life spans, and enabled us to work more efficiently. In addition, science has enabled us to see into the vast reaches of the universe as well as into the molecular world of the cell. Such discoveries have enhanced our appreciation and praise for our incredibly wise and powerful God.
However, all is not well in the scientific world. Science has often been used as a tool for the advancement of philosophical naturalism. This Sunday School class will investigate the claims of naturalistic philosophy and provide evidence against it and for a Creator.
This week’s lesson was entitled “Pointers to Purpose: Scientific Discoveries and the Existence of God.”
Instructors briefly investigated the history of western science and the vital role played in its development by those who believed in God. They also surveyed Darwin’s life and his naturalistic philosophy and science as well as looking at some specific scientific discoveries which point to the existence of God.
