The Pike County Commission and Pike County Economic Development Authority Director Carolyn Wisecarver said Monday that they are exploring potential funding sources for the construction of a pedestrian bridge in Bowling Green.
The pedestrian walk bridge would span the railroad tracks belonging to Kansas City Southern Railroad along Business Highway 61 in Bowling Green.
According to the county commission, they are envisioning a structure built in similar style to the pedestrian bridge built in Moberly, which carried a price tag of $160,000 when it was constructed several years ago.
One potential source of funding is the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), which is a federal grant program that allocates funds to projects such as the pedestrian bridge.
