It was announced last week that Bowling Green High School junior Alishia Curry received a $500 scholarship from Cuivre River Electric Cooperative’s 2017 Youth Tour. Juniors in four counties were eligible to write a 500-1000 essay entitled, “My Favorite Cooperative Principle.”
Curry, a resident of Frankford, was one of 300 high school juniors to apply. According to officials, only 12 juniors were chosen. The scholarship can be used for future schooling. Curry plans to study nursing at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo.
