During Monday’s meeting of the Curryville City Council, the governmental body heard from Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Brian Haeffner regarding two road construction and maintenance projects slated to be completed in the rural Pike County community.
The larger of the two projects is the resurfacing of the Hwy. 54 corridor, including the portion that passes through Curryville.
The resurfacing project is expected to take place in 2019.
The second project is the construction of a new approach to Hwy. 54 from Hwy. E, which connects Curryville to Frankford.
According to Haeffner, the construction of this new approach will close the intersection to motorists for a period of about five days. Motorists traveling on Hwy. E and wishing to merge on to Hwy. 54 will be detoured around the construction area.
According to Haeffner, the new approach is also slated to be constructed in 2019.
