Funeral services for Mrs. Deama Ilene Edwards, 91, of New Hartford, formerly of Louisiana, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Mike Haldeman assisted by Rev. Gary Crowder officiated. Burial was in Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Ill. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m Thursday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home. Mrs. Edwards passed away on Nov. 6, 2012 at her home near New Hartford.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1921 in Pleasant Hill, Ill., the daughter of Walter and Pearlie Windmiller Gray. She married Richard Leslie Edwards on Oct. 19, 1940 in New London, and he survives. She is also survived by a sister, Irma McKinnon of Pittsfield, Ill.; nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Eva Crowder; two brothers, Don Gray and William Gray; and a nephew, Roger Gray.
She had been employed at the Kamp Togs Garment Company at Clarksville for a number of years. She had also worked at various restaurants as a waitress.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Louisiana. She enjoyed sports and was an avid Cardinal fan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Erin Lesh, Emily Lesh, Kelsey Gray, Ron Kagy, and John Sisson. Active Pallbearers will be Ryan Gray, Brandon Gray, Chad Gray, Trevor Gray, Eric Lesh, and Windsor Eaves.
