Dorothy Darnell Cosgrove passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012.

She was born in Curryville July 25, 1926. She was the oldest of five children born to Mattie and Howard Darnell, graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1944 and attended Kansas City Secretarial School.

After working in Kansas City for five years, she moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a secretary for 35 years.

In 1951, she married William Cosgrove. Two daughters were born of this union, Sue and Catherine.

In addition she leaves to mourn three granddaughters, Samantha (Nathan), Meeghan and Claire; four great-grandsons, Dakota, Finnely, Rainier, Indie; sister, Joyce.

Dorothy was a classic, refined lady. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, and friend. A fiercely independent woman, she put everything before her own desires and needs. She loved God and her Church, gardening (especially her herb garden), reading, lunches with friends, spending time cooking at Cathedral of the Pines Camp.

Some people make the world more special by being in it. Dot was one of them.

Memorial services were held Monday, Nov. 26 at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minn.
