Last Saturday, more than 120 Bowling Green High School alumni and guests gathered for the 34th Annual Bowling Green High School Alumni Association Banquet, which was held in the historic James A. Wilson Gymnasium.
“This room brings back a lot of memories,” Rebecca Millan Glenn said in her opening remarks. Glenn, a 1983 graduate of Bowling Green High School, was the keynote speaker at this year’s banquet.
“In this room, I cheered the Bobcats on in basketball,” Glenn said. “I announced the girls’ games. I perspired in this room. I ran up and down those steps in this room. I organized equipment in this room. I have swept the floor of this room. I have served meals and attended banquets. I have wondered how folks got to set up on the stage at basketball games, as only special people got to sit up there. I also wondered how Mr. Argil Ellison got up in that window that is behind the flag, because he seemed to always be up there.”
