A local Boy Scout is hoping the Bowling Green community will help him achieve the rank of Eagle Scout by donating items and purchasing items at a yard sale that he is organizing on August 25.
The hours for the sale are not yet set.
According to Joseph Kroeck, a member of the local Boy Scout Troop No. 177, the sale will be held in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green.
Proceeds from the sale will be donated to the local Ministerial Alliance, which has provided monetary donations to a number of charitable causes, including the Hope Center Food Pantry, emergency food and clothing to children in foster care, and paid for overnight accommodations for individuals who are homeless.
Kroeck said in his interview with the Times that he hopes the sale will help the Ministerial Alliance continue its work within the community.
Those wishing to donate items to his Eagle Scout project are encouraged to drop off gently used clothes, toys, and other items in good condition to the First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church, located at 15 N. High Street in Bowling Green.
Kroeck will be at the church from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each Monday — Aug. 13 and Aug. 20 — between now and the sale.
According to Kroeck, he has already received several donated items including clothing, children’s toys, puzzles, and other items.
Individuals who are donating items to the sale do not need to price them as Kroeck said he and other members of the local Boy Scout troop will price items prior to the sale.
