Earth Day 5K, Kids Color Dash

Perkin’s Electrical Service will be hosting a 5K walk/run and kids color dash at the Bowling Green City Park on Saturday, April 12 at 8 a.m.

This is also the same day as the electronic recycling drive also taking place at the park.  The course will be three loops around the entire walking path at the park.

All 5K participants registered by April 1 are guaranteed to receive a T-shirt.

All proceeds will be donated to local educational groups. This event will not be officially timed.  Day-of registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7 am in the uppermost pavilion.

Starting at 9 a.m. will be a kid’s fun run. This will be a color dash, meaning as participants run the race, they will be splattered with paint.

Anybody who participates in the 5K is eligible to participate in the color run portion for free.  Be advised the paint may stain, so wear old clothes!

Preregistered color dash runners will start five minutes before day-of registrations, and be guaranteed to receive color.  The course for the color dash portion will be the top of the walking path, around baseball field three only.

To request a race form, or if you have any questions please e-mail   Runners can also call the Bowling Green Middle School at 324-2181 for forms and registration information or meet at the Bowling Green City Park uppermost pavilion at 7 a.m. for day-of registration.  Color Dash participants can arrive any time before 8:45 to register.

Unfortunately track athletes are not eligible to participate in this event due to MSHSAA rules.
