During Monday night’s Winter Sports Awards Ceremony at Bowling Green High School, the family of the late Ean West donated a Bobcat to the local school district in honor of their son. Pictured on right, accepting the donation on the school district’s behalf is Bowling Green High School Principal Brock Bailey, Bowling Green Athletic Director Matt Chance and Bowling Green High School Assistant Principal Scott Mullins.
As a student at Bowling Green High School, Ean was a member of the school’s cross country and track and field teams, which are also coached by Matt Chance. Ean, who would have graduated in 2014, was killed in a motor vehicle crash in 2012.
According to school officials, the Bobcat and its glass case will be on permenant display near the school’s main entry way. The Bobcat, which was found dead in northern Bowling Green, was taxidermied by Kevin Crider, of Paris, Mo., and the enshrined in a display case by Ty Hume, of Bowling Green.
