Frances Painter

Mrs. Frances Marie Painter, 90, of Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.

Funeral services were held Aug. 31, at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Don Kelley officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.

Frances was born Aug. 27, 1923 in Louisiana, the daughter of George Irvin Harrison and Margaret Morgan Harrison.

She is survived by two sons, Ron Painter (Carol), of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Ernie Painter (Lee Ann), of Louisiana; six daughters, Pat Schultz (Bob), of Tellico Village, Tenn., Sharon Turner (Dee), of Pinellas Park, Fla., Carolyn Goewey (Marion) of Towanda, Ill., Dr. Linda Niemeyer, of Honolulu, Hawaii; Annette Campbell (Jeff), of St. Charles; and Debbie Portwood (Dan), of Bowling Green; one brother, James William “Bill” Harrison, of Hannibal; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by one son, Thomas William Painter, Jr. who passed away in October 1987; three brothers, Charles Harrison, Everett Harrison and Albert Harrison; and four sisters, Betty Winn, Pauline Ferlano, Marie Smith and Ruth Friese.

Frances had been employed as a nurse’s aide at Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana until she retired in 1986. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisiana.

Frances loved her family and in her free time she loved to cook, sew, make quilts and work in her flower garden.

Pallbearers were Ian Darnell, Andy Darnell, J.J. Darnell, Robert Schultz, Chris Schultz, Todd Goewey, Kevin Lowery and Nathan Painter.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or to C.A.P.A. in care of Collier Funeral Homes, Inc., 117 Barnard Dr., Louisiana, MO 63353.
