Whoever coined the phrase “eternal optimist” must have had Jody Ford in mind.
Ford, a Frankford-area native, now living in Columbia, was diagnosed with Stage Three rectal cancer in mid-August. While this announcement came as a surprising blow, Ford has taken it in stride.
“That’s just life,” he said.
Already split between maintaining roles as a loving father to his two twin girls, Karley and Kaitlyn, both eight, a doting husband to wife, Jill, who is also from Pike County, and the full-time head coach at Fayette’s Central Methodist University, Ford seamlessly added this new responsibility – his health – to his plate.
Regardless, the Boone County resident quickly noted his naivety to the situation he currently finds himself in.
