This week’s selection of ‘From the Archives of the Bowling Green Times’ comes from the May 13, 1987 edition of the Times. The original caption for the photo reads as follows: “This stagecoach traveled around Bowling Green on Friday. It was built by Country Classics, a local firm. The appearance of the stagecoach garnered a lot of attention from downtown business owners and shopkeepers alike.”

Millie Betz Celebrates
50 Years of Membership in DAR
“Mildred M. “Millie” Betz was the woman of honor last Thursday afternoon, and with a good reason.
Betz has been a member of the Bowling Green’s Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter since 1957, making 2007 her 50th anniversary of membership. Fellow DAR members joined her on Thursday for the chapter’s meeting at Prairie’s Edge Garden Center.
Betz is a descendant of Capt. John Lillard, of Virginia. She is a past regent of the Bowling Green DAR Chapter and has also served as director of the Northeast District and was the state program chairman for the DAR organization.”
