The Haw Creek Friendly Neighbor Club met for their monthly meeting at the Presbyterian Church. Myrna Schuette hosted, with fall decorations on the tables.
The food table was adorned with a chicken casserole, vegetables, salads, bread rolls, and desserts. The noon blessing was given by Louise Miller. The table setting was a beautiful potted yellow Chrysanthemum door prize, which was later won by Dorothy McCarthy.
Following the meal President/Treasurer Brenda Cook called the meeting to order. Secretary Schuette led the members in singing “Home on the Range,” followed by the minutes.
Pauline Gibbs read the devotion “God’s Amazing Gift,” (Jesus) from the devotional book “The King of Glory.”

The ladies of the Haw Creek Club will be bringing Christmas cards for the Veterans living at the Mexico Veterans Home in Mexico and plan a tour of the facility at the November meeting.
Lola Jennings reported she sent two get will cards and four sympathy cards. She will be sending prayer cards to relatives and friends of members.
We will meet on Oct. 10 to plan the agenda for next year’s program book and take a tour of the Claymalnay Winery on Pike 49.
A ham and bean lunch will be held at the Frankford Christian Church on Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. till they run out. A fundraiser for the Rural Fire Dept. The Club Collect was recited.
Dorothy Flowers and Cook had the Program/Game “Jeopardy.” Team One was Nannie Elder, Leah Epperson, Pam Hendrell, Jennings, Maxine Macaulay, and McCarthy. Team Two was Dorothy Adams,
Frankie Epperson, Roxie McMillen, Louise Miller, Schuette, and Pauline Gibbs. Team Two won.
Secret Pal gifts were past out. The next meeting will be hosted by Gibbs at the Presbyterian Church on Nov. 6.
