Bowling Green High School will host their Honors Reception the evening of Tuesday, May 14, beginning at 7. The event will take place in the high school auditorium.
The high school’s 1989 faculty originally initiated the annual honors reception.
Individual departments’ awards are announced for those students meeting the specific requirements for that department.
Students who completed the College Preparatory Studies certificate’s requirements will be announced and receive the respective certificate for those studies.
Alpha Beta Gamma honors are reserved for those junior and senior students with outstanding academic records.
Students in the class of 2014 will be given a certificate if they have earned a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) at the end of five semesters.
Students in the class of 2013 who have a 3.5 GPA at the end of seven semesters will receive an alpha beta medal as well as a certificate. These students will also have their names entered into the Alpha Beta Gamma roll book during the honors reception. This book is a treasured registry of the outstanding students over the years.
Transfer students must have two full semesters at BGHS prior to acceptance into Alpha Beta Gamma. The honors reception will conclude with refreshments.
Family and friends are invited to join these respected scholars during their time of honor.
