James Earl Baker

Memorial services for Mr. James Earl Baker, 75, of Louisiana, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Louisiana. The Rev. Mark Dobelmann will officiate.

Mr. Baker passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at the Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home in Louisiana.

He was born Feb. 27, 1937 near Frankford, the son of, Vernie and Edith Jones Baker.

He married Barbara Highsmith Aug. 15, 1970 and she preceded him in death Jan. 16, 2009.

He is survived by one son, Josh Baker and wife, Michelle of Louisiana; three grandsons, Brian Baker of Mexico, Noah Baker and Xander Baker both of Louisiana; One sister, Evelyn Houchins of Emden, Ill. and Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, John Baker, Raymond Baker,  Harvey Baker, Virgil Baker,  George Baker, Elmer Baker and Jessie Baker and one sister; Goldie Hubert.

He graduated from High School in Frankford. He was a veteran, serving with the United States Army.

Jim had been employed as a Truck Driver for Coca Cola Bottling Company in Decatur, Ill. for a few years. He was later employed by Sunbeam Bread Company in Decatur as a Machine Operator until his retirement.

He loved the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren and friends.
