Anita Lemke, of the North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC), has earned the Housing Credit Certified Professional designation from the National Association of Home Builders.

“We congratulate Anita on this prestigious recognition,” said NECAC President and Chief Executive Officer Don Patrick. “She is a valuable member of the NECAC team and is on the front lines of making sure that the housing developments we’ve built, now manage or have been a partner in are running smoothly.”

Lemke, of Troy, is NECAC’s property management director.

The designation is reserved for developers, property managers, asset managers and others working in the affordable housing industry through the Low-Income Tax Credit Program.

To qualify for the honor, Lemke had to have a minimum of two years of experience and 10 hours of training in the tax credit program, and successfully complete a 75-question examination.

The designation showcases Lemke’s knowledge, experience and education in the tax credit industry covering management and development compliance issues.

“I’m very happy to receive this honor,” Lemke said. “It helps us continue to provide affordable housing and help clients put a roof over their heads.”

Since 1997, NECAC has been a partner in the construction, renovation, management or planned development of more than 1,200 apartments for the elderly, families and the disabled.

Working with partners such as USDA Rural Development, the Missouri Housing Development Commission, Neighbor Works America, utility companies and private industry groups, NECAC is able to offer affordable, quality housing. The developments represent an investment of more than $61 million in area communities.

Lemke joined NECAC three years ago. In her new position, She is in charge of managing and maintaining 33 NECAC properties with more than 800 apartments and single-family homes.
