Quincy Community Theatre has set a cast for what critics are refering to as their “wildly extraordinary” musical, “Seussical: The Musical,” which will hit the stage Feb. 6 through 9. One Bowling Green resident was chosen for the honor of performing.
The cast will feature 37 talented students from Quincy, Ill., Bowling Green, and Canton.
Seussical’s cast member from Bowling Green is Jayson Orr—a regular on the QCT stage.
In this production, Orr plays both a hunter and a citizen of the Jungle of Nool (home of Horton the Elephant).
Seussical is a very popular musical which first debuted in 2000.
The show integrates all of the Dr. Seuss characters audience members know and love (Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude, Mayzie, The Grinch, etc.) in one exciting adventure, focusing on Horton just as he finds the Whos on a speck of dust. He places the dust on a clover to protect the Whos and finds himself trying to convince the rest of the Jungle of Nool that the Whos really do exist. He also forms a friendship with a young Who named Jojo whose “thinks” eventually save the day.
