Long pleads guilty to distribution

During his Aug. 27 pre-trial conference, the Bowling Green man arrested in January pleaded guilty to one felony count of delivering or distributing.

According to Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte, on Thursday, Jan. 24, an investigation handled by the Pike County Drug Enforcement Unit led to and resulted in the arrest of the 17-year-old Bowling Green man, Quinton D. Long II.

During his May 14 arraignment, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty. Long was seen for an Aug. 27 pre-trial conference, when he retracted the not guilty plea and reentered a plea of guilty.

The defendant was placed on probation for a period of five years under the supervision of the State Board of Probation and Parole. Long was also ordered to pay $100, complete an substance/alcohol abuse evaluation and successfully complete treatment per recommendation of his probation officer, complete 80 hours of community service within 10 months, pay all court costs in five months, complete all counseling and testing per probation officer, and to pay jail assessment.

Long’s records show no previous criminal activity.
