The Louisiana Elks Lodge No. 791 is holding an Elks National Foundation Hoop Shoot on Saturday, Nov. 17.
This will be an open shoot with no prior qualification required. Organizers ask that all child participants be able to shoot the basketball as high as the hoop and an adult parent or guardian will be required to stay during the time each contestant is at the shoot.
Ages are calculated as of April 1, 2019 (because the National Shoot is in 2019) and are 8 to 13 years. If your child will not yet be 8 or will be 14 as of April 1, 2019, they are not eligible to compete.
Registration times are broken by age group: 8-9 years old is from 8 a.m.-8:30 a.m., 10-11 years old is from 8:40 a.m.-9:10 a.m., and the 12-13 age group starts at 9:20 a.m. and runs until 9:50 a.m.
Registration must take place at the appropriate time as the shoot for that group will begin after the close of registration for that group. Due to scheduling, there will be no exceptions to this rule.
Contest information is available at the following schools: Louisiana, Bowling Green, Clopton, Frankford, BONCL, and St. Clement. Those interested may also inquire for information via email at email@example.com or by calling 573-754-5890.
The Hoop Shoot allows every boy and girl between 8 and 13 in an Elks Lodge community the opportunity to participate in a fun, age-appropriate program that sets them up for future success.
