Majorine Turner

Funeral services for Mrs. Majorine Turner, 78, of Louisiana, formerly of Ashburn, were held Dec. 29 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana.

Mrs. Turner passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at the Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home in Louisiana.

She was born Aug. 21, 1934 in Ashburn, the daughter of John and Mary Elizabeth Hiles Meyers.

She married Lewis Emmerson Turner, April 6, 1980 in Ashburn. He preceded her in death Nov. 1, 2011.

Majorine is survived by two daughters, Connie Mowen and husband Keith of Pleasant Hill, Ill. and Elizabeth Marie Gilmore and husband Alan of Columbia; three brothers, John “Boat” Meyers of Ashburn, Henry Meyers of Granite City, Ill., and Randall Meyers and wife Mildred of Ashburn; one sister, Mary Worrell of Palmyra; and 17 nieces and nephews, she remembered all of their birthdays.

Majorine was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Niffen who passed away May 16, 1988, and a stillborn infant Alice Meyers who passed away April 10, 1917, and one brother, Sam Meyers who died in 1990.

Majorine attended the Ashburn schools. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Ashburn.

Pallbearers were Moon Worrell, John Ayers, Jamie Tibbits, Randy Meyers, Boat Meyers and Kyle Mowen.

Memorials may be given to the Ashburn Fire Department, Ashburn Cemetery, or the Fairview Cemetery in care of Collier Funeral Homes, Inc., 117 Barnard Drive, Louisiana, MO 63353.
