On Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 9:30 a.m., the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission will hold its monthly meeting at Tievoli Hills in Clarksville.
The meeting is open to the public.
The U.S. 54 Corridor Committee is scheduled to present, as is the Mayor of Clarksville, JoAnne Smiley, on the topic of flooding. Paula Gough, MoDOT NE District Engineer, will share information on the Champ Clark Bridge public involvement activities surrounding the environmental assessment process, and Dennis Heckman, MoDOT state bridge engineer, will talk about the condition of bridges across the state.
Any one is welcome to make presentations, but must sign in to do so before 9:15 a.m. at the Commission meeting. The Champ Clark Bridge Citizen’s Advisory Committee, made up of representatives from various groups throughout the region, has been invited.
During its monthly meeting, the Commission hears the bid openings on various projects throughout the state. As well, Commissioners encourages public attendance and looks forward to public interaction.
Tievoli Hills is located at 25795 Highway N in Clarksville. The MO 79 bridge north of Clarksville is closed, and detour signs are in place.
