President’s Perspective:

The Bowling Green High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) has had a tremendous year so far thanks to our outstanding members, dedicated advisors, and supportive community and I, senior Alicia Flowers, have been both blessed and fortunate to serve as the President of this remarkable chapter this year. Let me tell you, this in itself is an honor and a privilege. Our members have been both successful outside of the classroom as well as with achieving great feats within the classroom. For starters, members attended various leadership events this summer from MAbA (Missouri Agribusiness Academy) to the State Leadership Camp in June. We also had a great deal of members show off their diversified abilities at the local, district, and state Fair through both inside and outside exhibits. With the start of the school year came the start of classwork but that did not stop the members shining out within the school. So far the seventh graders took their hunter safety tests, sophomores created useful wood projects, while the construction and ag design classes have been exploring opportunities with the new plasma table. Truly it has been a joy to see new and old members from all paths of life step out of their comfort zones and achieve great things. Serving as chapter President has allowed me the chance to meet new members, get back in touch with old members, and learn amazing lessons from all of them.

State Officer Perspective
This past year has been a true blessing for me to serve the roughly 26,000 FFA members of the Missouri FFA Association. I have had the opportunity to travel the great Show-Me state from FFA camp at Camp Rising Sun, to the Missouri State Fair, to numerous FFA Chapters, and most recently, Greenhand Motivational Conferences in the Central and Southwest Districts. It is hard to believe that it is already National FFA Week, and this year is quickly concluding. It has been a true honor for me to represent our reputable chapter across the state, and I have been incredibly fortunate to receive support from my community in all of my endeavors.
