The New Harmony Youth Group is planning a bake sale for Saturday, June 14th, to be held in front of Wal-Mart in Bowling Green. Monies raised will be used for various youth group service projects.
There was a large gathering of people to celebrate Juanita Henderson’s 100th birthday at the church on Saturday, June 7.
She has been a member of the church since 1927.
Pastor Dawn Marie Turner led a time of celebration and memories in honor of Juanita.
Special music was shared by Sam Branstetter and Ron Turner; Marion Branstetter led everyone in singing a couple of her favorite hymns.
A resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives recognizing Juanita on her birthday was read by Marion Branstetter on behalf of Representative Jim Hansen.
Several shared special memories.
A carry-in meal was enjoyed in the fellowship hall following the program.
She enjoyed blowing out the candles on her birthday cake, made by Lindsey Kraft.
When asked how it felt to be 100 years old, Juanita replied, with her signature smile and twinkle in her eye, “I don’t know. I’ve never been 100 years old before.”
