Bowling Green man pleads guilty to copyright infringement

The United States Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday, Aug. 24 that Patrick S. Coughlin pleaded guilty to charges that he made and maintained for sale, approximately 8,405 counterfeit and bootleg movies on April 22.
Coughlin, 60, pleaded guilty to one felony count of copyright infringement. He appeared Tuesday afternoon before United States District Judge Catherine D. Perry in St. Louis.
Additionally, he was charged with a forfeiture count, which will require the forfeiture of his equipment used in the illegal activity.  Subject to forfeiture is a computer and two DVD burners.
He now faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or fines up to...
