Eolia’s Pike-Lincoln Technical Center (PLTC) will have to wait on their rebuilding process, thanks to the Governor’s withholding $1 million that was recently allocated by the House for the project.
The fire happened on Dec. 2, 2011 and destroyed a huge part of the school, namely the shops.
Earlier this month, the Missouri House of Representatives returned to session. On Wendesday, Sept. 11, House Bill 19, which was sponsored by Frankford native and 40th District Representative Jim Hansen, and had been previously vetoed by Governor Jay Nixon, was the first up for discussion.
“You will see that HB 19 contained $1 million for the Pike-Lincoln Technical Center. I worked very hard all session long to see this money was allocated for the center and was very disappointed to see the Governor veto this,” said Hansen. “I was happy to have bipartisan support in the House and Senate in the overriding of this veto.”
