Ola Hook, age 84, of Windham, Maine and formerly of Bowling Green, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Watson Fields Skilled Care in Dover, N.H. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Jerry Gamm officiating. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 8, 1928 in New Bloomfield, the daughter of Rex and Janie Boak Spencer. She married Don Hook in Fulton on June 20, 1948. He preceded her in death Aug. 3, 2002.
Survivors include sons Dennis Hook and wife Lisa of Windham, Maine, Robert Hook of Holden, Mass.; Brother Richard Spencer of Hutchinson, Kan.; sisters Mabel Bledsoe of Hutchinson, Kan., Anna Lou Marcum of Hutchinson, Kan. and Opal Wilde of Hernando, Fla.; grandson Eric Hook. She also left behind many nieces and nephews she held close to her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Peggy Plush; brothers Gene Spencer and Dale Spencer.
Ola lived in Mexico, Bowling Green, and later moved to Windham, Maine. Ola and husband Don were the former owners of Don’s IGA grocery store in Bowling Green, where they managed for 27 years. She spent many years caring for her family. She was a very kind and supportive wife, mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. She was a Baptist by faith.
