Republicans of Pike County met on Thursday, July 11 at Sunset Park in Louisiana. The group enjoyed a picnic supper after saying the pledge and a prayer.
The business meeting was called to order by club president, John Baker. Several new persons were present and were welcomed by the group. Baker reported that about half of the club members are keeping in touch through Facebook.
It was also announced that volunteers are needed to work at the Fair Booth at the Pike County Fair. The booth will be staffed from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each evening. The group discussed what materials to hand out at the booth. It was also decided to have a drawing for a $50 gas card. Anyone attending the fair may sign up for the drawing at the booth.
There will be a parade in Frankford on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. Club members are encouraged to participate.
Dorothy Sisson reminded the group that we need to find candidates for county offices. Interested candidates need to contact Sisson.
Next club meeting will be Thursday, Aug. 1 at Faith Baptist Church in Louisiana at 6:30 p.m.
