A dedicated corps of volunteers put on a Thanksgiving dinner each year for Pike County Health Department, Home Health and Hospice patients. This year 20 meals were prepared and delivered. The Thanksgiving dinner is only one example of how volunteers make a difference in a hospice patient’s life. Pike County volunteers can sit with patients, do clerical work, assist with correspondence, provide emotional support, and even prepare baked goods for patients and their families. Pike County Hospice currently has 24 active volunteers blessing their agency and its patients. Pictured are hospice volunteers Josie Williamson and Phyllis LaBrier.
