The Pike County Democrats held a meeting on Aug. 23 at the Pike County Country Club.
Mary Ann Lovell installed the newly elected officers: Jerri Harrelson, President; Sherry McCarty, Vice-president; Cathy Mitchell, Secretary; Patti Crane, Treasurer, and Frank Fanning, Parliamentarian.
New members, candidates running for office, elected officials and committee persons were introduced.
Danny Miller was presented with an engraved clock for his three years of service as the president. The Dunking Booth held at the park in July was discussed and those attending enjoyed a fun time.
The schedule for upcoming meetings and events for the rest of the calendar year was handed out. Plans were made for the three Pike County parades: Heritage Day in Bowling Green, Applefest in Clarksville, and Colorfest in Louisiana. Nancy Guyton spoke to the Club to encourage active group canvassing.
Bob Kirkpatrick, County Clerk, announced his plans to retire Nov. 30 of this year.
The next meeting will be on Sept. 20. All are welcome to attend.
