The charred ruins of the Pike-Lincoln Technical Center began coming down last week under a demolition contract with Spirtas Wrecking Co. of St. Louis.
An excavator began tearing down the walls of the metal building in Eolia on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Spiritas spokesman Josh Kraemer said it will take about four weeks to bring the building down and haul it away.
The building was destroyed by smoke and flames of unknown origin on Dec. 2, 2011. It was one of the larger fires in recent Pike County history, but no one was injured physically.
