Jane Powell is retiring from teaching piano after 25 plus years. She has introduced her students to many styles of music such as Classical,  Ragtime, Jazz, Boogie Woogie, pop songs from movies, musicals, and hymns.

She has had students from Curryville, Frankford, Clopton, St. Clement, and Bowling Green. Powell has always put on two recitals a year, one at Christmas and one in the spring. This was her favorite time to show her piano students progress to their parents, family, and friends. She especially enjoyed her adult students. One adult male came for his first lesson and told Mrs. Powell, his goal was to learn how to play Beatle songs.

He reached that goal and quit.

Mrs. Powell had her students participate in piano ensemble music, such as piano duets, trios, quartettes, and piano and organ duets.

One of her favorites was a trio of Sousa, Stars and Stripes Forever.

Mrs. Powell wants to thank all her piano students for bringing joy to her life and she hopes that the piano will bring joy to their lives and others.
