The City Park on Court Street will be abuzz with activity on Saturday, September 30 as city officials with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department are planning for a full day of activities.
According to a schedule of events, craft vendors will be located around the park’s walking trail beginning at 4 p.m. There will be also be a barbecue located at the shelter house from 5-7 p.m.
In addition to the vendors and the barbecue, there will be a blues concert from 5:30 to 7:30, a screening of the film “Captain Underpants,” beginning at 8 p.m. and a Glow ‘N’ The Dark Volleyball tournament beginning at 7:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will be used by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department for more improvements in the city park.
Those wishing to become a vendor or to sign-up for the volleyball tournament can pick-up a registration form from the Bowling Green City Hall, which is located at 16 West Church Street, Bowling Green, Mo.
New Park To Be Added
During a recent meeting of the Bowling Green Board of Aldermen, the city’s leaders agreed to have the city’s attorney draft the necessary paperwork to create a third city park in Bowling Green.
The new city park, which will be located near the Community Center on West Locust Street, will feature playground equipment that is similar to the equipment found in the city’s two other parks, the 15th Street Park and the City Park on Court Street.
City officials hope to one day be able to add park benches and picnic tables to the Community Center Park.
