Mr. R.M. Holliday, 96, of rural Louisiana, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home in Louisiana.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a. m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Randall Cone and Natalie Crow officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana.
He was born June 23, 1917 in rural Louisiana, the son of Richard McCune Holliday and Erma Thurmond Holliday.
He married Pauline Ince Dec. 24, 1937 in Louisiana, and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Knight and husband Bill, of Frankford; two granddaughters, Natalie Crow and husband, Will of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Monica Cullom of Louisiana; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Daniel, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two great-grandsons, A. J. Cullom and Jordan Cullom; and a great-great-granddaughter, Braxten Cullom, all of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Erma Holliday; an infant son who died at birth; one sister, Martha “Polly” Love; and a brother-in-law, Cletis Love.
He graduated from Louisiana High School in 1935 and had farmed in the grassy creek area all of his life.
Honorary pallbearers were J. B. Waddell Jr., Jason House, Brad Stoops, Trace Penrod and Willard Crow. Active pallbearers were A. J. Cullom, Jordan Cullom, Carl Henderson, Benjie Henderson, Cade Waddell and Ted Waddell.
