In just under 50 days, Pike County’s Relay for Life will kick off their 2014 event at the Pike County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Sept. 27, beginning at 1 p.m.
This year’s theme, “Rockin’ for a Cure,” may be interpreted several different ways by new and returning teams. It will be very interesting to see how teams decorate their campsites or dress up for this years theme.
Ethel Drew, this year’s co-chair along with the committee has several events and performances planned.
Musical entertainment keep the fairgrounds “rockin’” thoughout the day, beginning at 1 p.m.
Bowling Green FFA is planning an even larger horse show, thanks to co-chairs Bailey Carter and Tori Nichols, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Boy Scout Troup 177 will have a car bash throughout the day.
From 1:30 to 3 p.m. there will be kid’s games put on by Pike County Relay for Life team Kountry Friends.
Games will be followed by performances by the Bulldog Peewee Cheer at 3:30.
Bowling Green Presbyterian Church will once again serve food beginning at 3 p.m. until close.
New Harmony Christian Church will be helping with the silent auction from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
At 5 p.m., the teams and sponsors will be recognized for their involvement in Relay for Life.
