The Bowling Green Middle School will present a program honoring all veterans on Nov. 11.
The program will begin at approximately 12:30 and the community is invited to attend. The program will feature the middle school band and choir. Middle School students organize the program and want everyone in the area to know that they are welcome to be a part of this event.
Prior to the program the BGMS will host a luncheon in the James A. Wilson gymnasium for veterans, veteran’s spouses and spouses of deceased veterans. This luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for the coffee and tea reception, which begins at 11 a.m.
Veterans, veteran’s spouses or spouses of deceased veterans that plan to attend the luncheon and program are asked to contact the middle school office at 324-2181 by Nov. 4.
Speaking at this year’s Veteran’s Day program will be William McDaniel McCollum, the author of the book, “Above the Best.” The book tells of the experiences of a U.S. Air Force helicopter crew tasked with rescuing American soldiers trapped on the battlefields of Vietnam.
