Funeral services for Richard Wayne Campbell, 70, of Louisiana, were held Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Maryland Street Baptist Church in Louisiana. The Rev. Herbert Wommack officiated.
Campbell passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at De Paul Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born April 18, 1942 in Frankford, the son of William and Eleanor Blackwell Campbell.
He married Mary Frances Johns in 1998 at the Bethel A.M.E. Church in Louisiana and she survives.
He is also survived by a son, Hosea Pearl, of Oklahoma state, one daughter, Rose Morris of Kansas City, one sister, Doris Keys of Peoria, Ill., one brother James Davis and wife, Marjorie of Peoria, Ill., a grandson, Ronald Griffith of Hannibal, aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Barbara Williams and Della Campbell who passed away Nov. 3, 2011 and one brother, Junior Campbell.
He had been employed with the city of Louisiana Water Department for 22 years before his retirement.
Richard was a member of the Maryland Street Baptist Church in Louisiana.
Honorary pallbearers are Ben Burse, Sr. and William Powell. Active pallbearers are; Roosevelt Burse, Tom Burse, Craig McPike, Charles Shelton, John Bryant and Kenny Griffith.
