We’ve had a great start to second semester at BGE.

Happy half-way through third quarter. It is so hard to believe fourth quarter is right around the corner.

We have had a great start to second semester and I am certain the rest of this year will fly by. We have a lot of great things to look forward to as we make our way to the end of yet another school year.

The teachers are hard at work planning field trips and preparing students for MAP testing, plans are being finalized for our Field Day, we are scheduling appointments for our future students and our Club’s Choice fundraiser has just begun. See below for more specifics on our screenings, registrations, and the fundraiser.

PreK/Kindergarten screenings are

coming up.

BGE will be scheduling appointments for registering and screening children for Kindergarten and PreK for the 2013-2014 school year. Children who are five years old prior to Aug. 1 can be screened for kindergarten and those who are four years old prior to Aug. 1 for entrance into our PreK program. Registration/Screening dates for kindergarten are Feb. 25 through March 1 and for Pre-K are March 4 through 6.

Parents should arrive a little before the scheduled appointment time and should bring the child’s birth certificate, social security card, immunization record, and proof of residency. Please allow 75 to 90 minutes for your child to be screened in vision, hearing, gross/fine motor, concepts, language, parent information/exit interview.

Call the BGE office at 573-324-2042 to schedule an appointment for your children and help spread the word to others who have children in this age group. We look forward to another great group of kids and families.

Club’s Choice Fundraiser Information

Our Club’s Choice Fundraiser Kick-Off Assembly was held on Friday, Feb. 8 for our entire student body. The students were told of the awesome incentives they could earn by making sales to help our school. Once again, a ride in a Hummer limo to get ice cream is available, students will be able to throw water balloons at Mr. Graham and I, we will have a school carnival for all of our students where those who sell 30 items or more will get to spend some time in a money machine. The students were very excited to get started on their sales which will be taking place until Feb. 18.

Thanks to our PTO for organizing this fundraiser for our school and for all of the wonderful things you do for us. Remember, PTO meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the BGE library. All are welcome to attend these kid-friendly meetings.

As always, do not hesitate to call our office or communicate with your child’s teacher as needed. We are happy to help our wonderful families.
