Bowling Green’s city Building Inspection and Code Enforcement authority Mel Orf made an announcement at the City’s general committee meeting Monday night that will thrill many of the area’s fast food fans.
Taco Bell is making its way to Bowling Green.
The restaurant, Orf explained during the meeting, has sent the City building plans, completed core samples, and many other necessary steps towards opening the chain. He said the remaining steps are to obtain building permits and begin construction.
“It’s happening,” Orf told the Times after the meeting adjourned. “They’ve spent too much money already to not go through with it.”
While exact construction and opening dates are not available at this time, the company informed Orf that they plan to open the restaurant somewhere within the year between August of 2014 and August 2015.
The new fast food restaurant will be located in the grass lot on the north side of the roundabout, in front of Saint’s Avenue Cafe.
