Lady Bobcats Stay Unbeaten In Eastern Missouri Conference
The one-two punch of Gabi Deters and Jaylen Early provided the spark, and the Lady Bobcats set the defense of the Mark Twain Lady Tigers ablaze on Thursday evening.
During the second quarter, the Lady Bobcats pulled away from the Lady Tigers for a 56-43 victory in an Eastern Missouri Conference girls basketball game.
The conference game was close through much of the first quarter, with Bowling Green eking out a 12-10 lead.
In a post-game interview, BGHS Head Coach Heather Minter told the Times that the Lady Bobcats appeared to be content to keep pace with the Lady Tigers in the first quarter.
“I don’t know, we were not playing sloppy,” Minter said. “But we were not playing at our level, we were just going through the paces. We were just out there to feel them out, to see what they could do.”
That changed in the second quarter when Gabi Deters hit a three-point shot on the Lady Bobcats’ first possession of the quarter.
