Becca Travis, daughter of Kent and Nancy Travis of Frankford, was inducted into the honor society Phi Eta Sigma at Missouri State University on March 2. Phi Eta Sigma is an honor society for college freshmen that attain a cumulative grade point average of a least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale at the close of any full-time curricular period during the first year at the university level.
Phi Eta Sigma, founded in 1923, is the oldest and largest national honor society for college freshmen. Phi Eta Sigma is an active scholastic fraternity that allows members to meet scholars from all academic disciplines. Service projects and social activities are planned throughout the semester, for which attendance is voluntary.
Becca is a 2012 graduate of Bowling Green High School. Travis is studying soil management and conservation at Missouri State University in Springfield.
Becca is the granddaughter of Cliff and Marge Brown and Elsie Travis.
