Pike County area residents flocked to their television screens last Tuesday, April 29, as a familiar face debuted on the TV game show “Jeopardy.”
Rural Bowling Green resident Mary Twellman has followed the show for years, saying it has always piqued her interest.
“It was something I thought ‘Oh, wouldn’t that be fun to do,’” she explained.
The retired teacher had been working towards her goal of appearing on the show for quite some time before she got the offer. Her show was taped in early February.
“I couldn’t believe I got the call,” she said. “I was laughing so hard after they called, I couldn’t hardly tell my husband.”
Twellman flew to Los Angeles with her husband, Larry, on a Monday and taped the show the following day. They were able to stay in LA until they flew back to Missouri that Thursday.
