Graveside services for Velma Benton Hanson, 83, of Laddonia, was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Laddonia Cemetery with the Reverend Joe Jones officiating.
No visitation is planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hanson passed away at 12:41 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 at her home.
She was born October 5, 1930 in Laddonia, the daughter of William Oscar and Mattie Elizabeth Benton Montague.
She was married to Wilmer Donald Hanson on Jan. 5, 1946 in Bowling Green and he survives.
Other survivors include: two sons and their wives, Donald and Sharon Hanson, and Monte and Glee Hanson, all of Laddonia; two daughters and their husbands, Vicki and Mike Dixon, of Laddonia, and Veanna and Brian Snodgrass, of Vandalia; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Montague, George Montague, and Bill Montague; three sisters, Nellie Bostwick, Mary Fox, Selina Daly; and one granddaughter, Amy Kay Hanson.
Mrs. Hanson was a lifetime area resident and member of West Cuivre Baptist Church. She worked as an LPN at Audrain Medical Center for 38 years and Tri-County Care Center for 12 years before retiring.
