The Bowling Green Chapter of the VFW Auxiliary No. 5553 held its regular meeting on Monday, April 2, at the post home in Bowling Green.
The nominating committee gave their report and the slate of officers for 2018-2019 were elected by acclamation.
Installation of officers will be held at our May meeting.
Discussion was held about the post and auxiliary plans to go back to the traditional Memorial Day Parade that would be held on Memorial Day. The Parade would start at the Square and ending at the Memorial Garden Cemetery. We will be having more information on details once plans are finalized. We hope to have participation from several clubs and the general public for this.
A donation was made to the VFW National Home in Eaton Rapids, MI. The National Home consists of 42 single family homes where military and veteran’s families who need a fresh start can live up to four years rent free while getting their education, counseling, child care, like skills training and many other benefits.
Meeting closed according to ritual and our May meeting will be May 7 starting with supper at 6:00 p.m.
