Virginia B. Teasley

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia B. Teasley, 85, of Louisiana will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Bob Norvel will officiate.

Burial will be in the Old Alexandria Cemetery near Troy. Mrs. Teasley passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 at her home in Louisiana.

She was born Jan. 28, 1928 in Troy to Edward and Folsa Smith Bohmer.

She married John B. Teasley on Aug. 14, 1950 in St. Charles and he preceded her in death April 20, 1997.

Virginia is survived by a son, Allan Randall Teasley and wife, Lin, of Columbia; one granddaughter, Kirsten Teasley, of Columbia; two sister-in-laws, Alberta Hawking and Vernetta Penn, both of St. Charles; and dearest friend, Zona Peterson, of Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Folsa Smith Bohmer; and two brothers, Bob Bohmer and Melvin Bohmer.

Virginia and her husband had owned and operated Teasley’s Sewing Center in Louisiana for a number of years. She was later employed at Stark Bro’s Nursery in Louisiana as a sales clerk in the garden center until her retirement.

Virginia enjoyed being around people and in her spare time she did volunteer work for Pike County Hospital and the Clothing Room in Louisiana.

Pallbearers are Dr. Gene Smith, Tom Fowler, Alan Bolton, Brad Stark, Chris Stark, and Todd Woods.
