Wayne Lybarger, 76, of Bowling Green, passed away September 2, at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on September 5, at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with John Veach officiating.
Visitation was held on September 5, from 10:00 a.m. until 1.
Burial was held at Siloam Cemetery with military honors being conducted by VFW Post #5553 and Military Honor Guard from Jefferson Barracks.
Wayne was born January 15, 1939, in Curryville. He was the of Homer and Edna Goodman Lybarger.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Esther Couch Lybarger. Other survivors include: sons Kenneth Wayne Lybarger (Tina), of Center, John Lybarger (Donna), of New London and Robert Lybarger, of Bowling Green; daughter Abbie Brown (William), of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Heather Brown, Kodi Lybarger, Jordyn Lybarger, Justin Swank (Destiny), Latoya Fletcher (Josh), Megan Hendrix (Andy), Jacob Aitken, Bethany Graver and Devin Graver; great-grandchildren Madison Swank, Natalie Fletcher and Nora Fletcher; brother Gary Lybarger, of Troutman NC; sisters Nancy Lybarger, of Bowling Green and Glenna Fuerst, of Eolia; special cousin Linda Williams, of Monroe City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Billy Lybarger, Edwin Lybarger and Donald Goodman.
Wayne was a lifelong residence of Pike County and a United States Veteran, serving during the Vietnam era, from 1960 until 1966.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren.
Wayne was the family rock and was there for anyone who needed him.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Swank, Christopher Brown, Joshua Fletcher, Andy Hendrix, Denny Curry and Jerry Lybarger.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bill Couch, Tom Couch and Boyd Fairchild.
Memorials may be made to Siloam Cemetery.
