Residents Want More Shops, Restaurants, Events Located In Historic Business District

The sidewalks of downtown Bowling Green were empty Monday evening and local businessmen and businesswomen are wanting to change that. The local Chamber of Commerce’s Downtown Revitalization Group is looking for ways to help spur new economic growth in the business district and is seeking public input on what can be done to improve the shopping experience in downtown Bowling Green.

During Thursday night’s meeting of the Bowling Green Downtown Revitalization Committee, organizers of the grassroots effort to re-energize the city’s historic downtown business district spoke to a nearly empty room.
Organizers had hoped the owners, managers, and employees of the downtown business community would attend Friday night¹s meeting. Based on this hope, the group had set up enough seating for a crowd of more than 20 individuals.
